Harvest of Hope Transportation Guidelines for All Buses and Vans

Ø  Riding a Church vehicle is a privilege, and riders should treat it as such.

Ø  Please call the Church office by noon each Wednesday if your child is not riding to save on travel time.

Ø  You must always respect and obey your driver and assigned riders on both Bus and Vans.

Ø  All riders must sit in their seats when the bus/van moves.  All van riders/drivers must have seat belts on and fasten- that is the law.  Riders are not to extend arms or hands out of the vehicle windows or throw any objects out.  Pre-School children must be in a booster seat when riding the van.

Ø  All student riders may not share a seat in a Bus or Van with the opposite sex (biological) unless they are a family member.  ( This was always verbal, now it is written)

Ø  Talk quietly – NO vulgar, obscene language or swearing will be allowed – to do so will expedite a two-week suspension.

Ø  You must show courtesy and respect for your fellow riders.  In other words, there will be no bullying, hitting, name-calling, or making fun of other riders.  Again – to do so will expedite an immediate two-week suspension.

Ø  No child under the age of 4 years will be allowed to ride in our vehicles.

Ø  If any damage to a bus/van is done, the rider and parents must be responsible for paying for the repair work before the child is allowed back on transportation.

Ø  New riders/visitors (not registered) will be given a Guest Pass to be used for one visit.  The rider can take a Registration Packet to the home or complete it online.  The registration packet must be completed and returned to the Church office before the next week or riding the second time.  Due to personal/private information content, all forms will be given to the Church office.

Ø  If a child is to be dropped off at a place different from where he/she is picked up, the Church office MUST BE notified in advance by noon on Wednesdays with a note signed by the parent presented in the Church office stating the parent’s request.  If a parent comes to pick up the child, the parent must first check in at the Church office.

Ø  Riders cannot bring food, drink, or gum to the vehicles.

Ø  Enforcement of rules – again, your riding on the Church bus/van is a privilege, and you will be suspended for breaking the rules listed above or for any behavior that disrupts the safe operation of the bus/van.  Awaiting Text...
